Mars Rover

I saw this site from NASA to have your name included on the next Mars Rover - if you can't go to space, may as well have your name go to space!

Negative Ping

MCP had this column about issues with AMD multi-core chips and time drift: Windows Server Adrift. Unfortunately, the comment function was broken and threw a 501 error.

I had this problem once on a couple of servers with a dual-core Opteron chips.

One of the more interesting side effects was ping would return a negative result (and you thought a response time under 1 ms was short?). A change to boot.ini to add the switch /usepmtimer and a reboot fixed the problem. Later when a fix was release we applied KB 938448 for good measure.

This is actually funny, a combination of Halo 3 and Robot Chicken... Robot Halo Chicken.
