It looks like a lot of effort has gone into automating solving the Rubik's Cube. This one was done with Lego Mindstorms. I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same but make it faster by programming in advanced moves? This could be a bit of a challenge, this version already solves it in 3:30 or less.
